Sleep Centers of Texas offers patients with sleep disorders a continuum of specialized care from diagnostic testing and initial treatment to ongoing monitoring and long-term disease management.

The first step in assessing potential sleep-related disorders is for you to complete the sleep questionnaires and medical history in the New Patient Packet. These questionnaires provide the medical staff with detailed information about your symptoms such as difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep, daytime sleepiness or fatigue, breathing problems during sleep, restless legs at night and other various night-time behaviors. Additionally, the questionnaires explore your general health and any other health issues that may be related to your sleep-related symptoms.

During the initial consultation, a sleep specialist will review and discuss the information that you provided in the questionnaires and perform a physical examination focused on the head and neck area. The specialist will then use the information from the sleep questionnaires, medical history, and physical examination to evaluate your symptoms.

Based on the clinical evaluation, the sleep specialist may then recommend further diagnostic testing, such as an overnight sleep study.
